4 Useful Browser Toolbars for Adult Webmasters.

| by admin |

The adult industry is chock full of individuals that create and maintain their own websites. Although there are a lot of tools out there to help, one area that is a wealth of information are toolbars for your browser of choice. Most of you are already familiar with the Google Toolbar, but did you know that there are others that will actually help you optimize your website?

Here they are, in no particular order:

1. Web Developer Toolbar for Firefox

This one is definitely for the advanced user. The value in this one lies in giving designers access to checking code, view and modify HTML elements, validate web pages, view and delete cookie sessions and many other features.
2. Search Status for Firefox Toolbar

If you’re serious about Search Engine Optimization and web design, then this is a must have. It shows you Alexa, Compete, and Pagerank data, shows you links that aren’t going anywhere, direct access to archive.org, whois, link reports and other search reporting data. It will also show you incoming and backward links from Google, Yahoo!, and MSN. The 2 features that I adore about it are the ability to show keyword density and highlighting of keywords. Though this one is only for Firefox, you’re doing yourself a disservice if you only use IE.

3. The Compete.com Toolbar

We’re going to have an entire article about the values and pitfalls of Compete.com, but for now just know that it can be a useful tool in your box. Compete.com is fast becoming a contender in the tech and media world and its starting to influence rankings of websites. and that means that you need to know about it. This toolbar will allow you to search options with major engines, gives you popup traffic profile for websites and provides competitive data on any website you’re currently browsing.

4. The Alexa Toolbar

Ah Alexa.. How we love you so. This can be your best friend, or your worst enemy. One thing I will tell you is to take all Alexa information with a grain of salt. One little known fact is that even if a website gets very little usage on a regular basis by just a few Alexa toolbar users, then its enough to propel your site higher in your rankings. You will be able to rank traffic and trend data, check related sites, and search options on the major engines and Alexa’s internal search.
